Marcel Roux: A Journey of Faith, Family, and Ambition

Born in 1998 in Cape Town, Marcel Roux grew up in a loving family with his brother Armand. His childhood was filled with warmth, guidance, and opportunities to explore his passions. Today, Marcel is a proud husband to Simoné Roux, a devoted father to their baby boy, and a loving dad to their Yorkie, Koda Roux.

His early years were marked by his love for rugby and his passion for helping children develop their talents. As an adult, he has expanded his interests to include coaching CrossFit and fishing, reflecting his diverse hobbies and love for physical activities.

Although Marcel never saw himself as a model, fate had other plans. Encouraged by his wife, Simoné, he ventured into modelling with an open heart and the mantra, "What if?" His first experience in the spotlight came during high school when he participated in the Mr. & Mrs. De Kuilen pageant. Embracing the challenge, Marcel discovered a new side of himself on stage, ultimately winning the title and earning the Mr. Photogenic award.

Despite his success in modelling, Marcel remains grounded, prioritizing faith and family above all else. He credits his achievements to the guidance of God and the unwavering support of his loved ones. Balancing his personal life with his modelling career can be challenging, but his commitment to excellence ensures that he dedicates time to everything he pursues.

While his modelling portfolio may not be extensive, his aspirations extend far beyond the runway. He dreams of creating a safe space for children with disabilities to strengthen their muscles and pursue their sporting ambitions. Ultimately, Marcel's goal is to make Jesus more famous by being His ambassador on earth.

Preparing for photoshoots and runway shows comes naturally to Marcel. Confident in his own skin, he is adaptable to any situation and welcomes guidance to meet the vision of photographers and designers.

Maintaining physical and mental health is crucial for Marcel. His day starts early with Bible study and prayer, followed by a healthy breakfast and exercise routine. With his wife sharing the same passion for fitness and well-being, Marcel's daily life revolves around positivity, exercise, and family time.

In terms of fashion, Marcel's style has evolved over the years, thanks to Simoné's influence. From wearing rugby pants to embracing chinos and semi-formal looks, Marcel enjoys being comfortable yet stylish. Brands like Under Armour, Reebok, Country Road, and Kingsley Heath resonate with his sporting interests and fashion choices.

Tim Tebow, a sports personality who uses his platform to inspire and motivate, is someone Marcel admires greatly. Inspired by Tim's commitment to changing lives through positivity and love, Marcel aspires to use his platform in similar ways.

Entering the Mr. South Africa 2024 competition was a challenge Marcel willingly embraced, motivated by his wife's belief in his potential. He sees this competition as an opportunity to grow, inspire, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Marcel's journey to the Mr. South Africa title was not without its obstacles. He faced skin breakouts, the birth of his baby boy, the loss of his father, and falling ill during the finals. Despite these challenges, Marcel's resilience and determination shone through, leading him to victory.
